Wipe Off, Wipe On!

Face it — some days skin care probably isn’t on the top of your to-do list.

And not that we need to sell you on how great it will be to be able to wipe your make up off, and then wipe your skincare on, HowStuffWorks captured the beauty of why we love skincare and cleansing wipes perfectly. Whether you’re super busy, under the weather or just don’t want to mess with multiple steps to clean your skin, you’re likely tempted to skip washing your face at least a few times a week. And if you’re away from home, your skin might suffer even more because it can be difficult to drag your normal battery of products along. That’s when face cleansing wipes can be a skin saver. Skin care specialists strongly advise washing your face daily, otherwise your skin can break out or become dull. But face cleansing wipes can make it a little more convenient to wipe your face clean before bed.

Face cleansing wipes also are easy to use because they come with a cleansing product already on them. Whether they are dry or pre-moistened, the wipes already contain the correct amount and type of ingredients needed for facial cleansing. Even people with acne-prone or sensitive skin have a wide selection of wipes to choose from.

Another major benefit of cleansing wipes is their all-in-one ingredients feature. Some of the products have cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing abilities, which allow people who normally don’t spend much time on skin care to at least get those basic tasks done. And for those who normally partake of a full skin care treatment but don’t have time on certain days, they can still get those three steps done by simply using one cleansing cloth.

Many people consider hygiene to be another benefit. Unlike with a pot of cream or foaming wash that requires the use of your fingers, cleansing wipes allow the user to clean his face without worry of contaminating a container with germs by repeatedly touching it.

With all the advantages and the wide range of types available, many people have turned to cleansing wipes to help them face the world with clean, beautiful skin.

Coming this spring, Damone Roberts will change your skin, and your life, forever with his AM/PM system.

XO!

Beauty Tip of The Day ~ Minx & Its Multiple Uses

Damone Roberts Minx Brow Shadow is made in a warm, delectable, chocolate brown to compliment the skin.  The powder is made coarser than eyeshadow to give the illusion of hair, once it is applied. Minx will either lighten your dark brows or darken your light ones and is worn personally by Damone, himself. Other uses:

1.  It can be worn as an eyeshadow that aids in a smoky eye look, that is great for any event!

2.  It can be used as a soft eyeliner, that lasts long.

3.  It can be used as a contouring powder on darker skins

Damone Roberts Beverly Hills turns 10 Years Old TODAY!

DRBH turns 10 years old TODAY!

Surreal seems to be an understatement to describe how I feel writing this!
The fact that the company I started is officially 10 years old, brings about many different emotions.
Thank you’s must go out to my amazing artist’ (Kristina has been with me since day one), my behind the scenes team, my “special one”, my family, friends & God (whom I know for a fact has my back, because TRULY without his presence, this company would not still be standing & literally growing stronger by the day).
Lastly, I must personally thank the clients, who have been loyal (some with me since I first moved to L.A almost 20 years ago), supportive & respective of the journey…as it continues.
Thank you all so very much!
I will be tweeting @damoneroberts and instagraming (damoneroberts) my 10 year journey throughout the day today; check in with me as I post memorable moments that have made every minute so special!
If you have had an experience with me and/or with my brand, products, boutiques, artists or anything else along the way, I’d love to hear about it today!  Send me a tweet (@damoneroberts) or post a picture on Instagram (damoneroberts) with the hashtag #damoneroberts10yrs .  Let’s make it our online journal for the day!

Our Interview with Damone Roberts client, Katrina Parker from NBC’s The Voice

OUR CLIENT KATRINA PARKER FROM NBC’S THE VOICE

Attention Brow People! Katrina Parker, @katrinapmusic , is a wonderful client of ours at
Damone Roberts Beverly Hills. I first met this wonderful artist years ago in Los Angeles at Ryan Black’s 88’s Cabaret show. She blew my mind. Not only did I become a huge fan but she inspired me to start singing as well. I got Katrina to come into our salon and have been painting her face and giving her those signature DAMONE brows. She was lovely enough to allow me to interview her:) PLEASE VOTE FOR HER THIS MONDAY! APRIL 23RD on NBC’s THE VOICE. Enjoy!

When did you start singing?

I’ve been singing since I could speak. I grew up surrounded by music. My mom would sing me to sleep and my dad would sing to me to wake me up (not always on key). It was only natural I would start singing myself.

Do you play any instruments?

I play piano. I also do a passable version of the “Sanford & Sons” theme on wood whistle.

When did you write your first song?

I wrote my first song when I was around 18 years old, it was a co-write with a lovely friend of mine Stacy Jagger. I was skittish about writing and she was determined to make it less scary for me. Working with her really opened me up to doing it myself.

Who and what inspires you?

As a vocalist, I’m inspired by classic, iconic singers like Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. As a songwriter, I’m inspired by indie pop in the vein of Feist and traditional country music AKA Hank Williams. I’m also very inspired by books and film, dreams, good long conversations and basically anything that moves me is fodder for my singing and songwriting.

When did you consciously decide to try out for the voice?

I had a friend offer to get me a scheduled time slot to audition and I laughed in his face! I had just started singing again after a 2 year break due to health issues and had no intention of being onstage so soon (much less on camera)…BUT he put a bug in my ear about it and I finally decided it was worth a shot. Two weeks after he brought it up, we scheduled the audition.

What have you learned so far?

I’ve learned that I’m capable of a lot more than I realized - both as a person and as a singer. Trying to do something as authentic, delicate and close to your heart as music in the midst of a reality show structure is HARD. It really tests your mettle - and I never thought I could handle something like this! Let alone adapt to it and even thrive at times, but I have. I’ve also discovered things I didn’t know about my voice until now. We’ve been asked to tackle so many different songs; it really stretches you musically.

What are some of your favorite moments so far?

There’s been so many! Seeing Betty White at the first live show, ha, I almost died on the spot. Being mentored by Alanis Morissette which made me kind of giddy! One of the most recent magic moments was the results show where I was saved from elimination by Adam. I mean, it was bittersweet fighting to stay on the show and at the same time seeing people I loved go home. That same night something really clicked for me, I finally felt comfortable on that stage (and I hope I continue to feel that way).

What is your next step after the show?

I perform again on The Voice this Monday, 4/23. I would very much like to stay on the show longer, but once my time here is done I plan to finish my independent CD and find a viable way to make a living making music.

And lastly tell me anything that you want people to know about you, anything at all.

I have been an underdog on this show from the beginning, but I think that is what The Voice is all about - defying expectations. I am not a sample size and don’t have a rock star persona! I am just a regular person MADLY IN LOVE with singing for an audience. I was born to do this and will continue doing it regardless of how far I go on this show.

-Katrina Parker
